Joe Marcantonio is a critically-acclaimed writer and director, based in London, whose work has been praised for its cinematic visual approach and exceptional performances.
His debut feature-film is psychological thriller ‘KINDRED’, starring Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Dunkirk, Fighting with my Family), Fiona Shaw (Colette, Harry Potter, Killing Eve) and Tamara Lawrance (Silent Twins, Small Axe).
Fiona Shaw was BIFA nominated and Tamara Lawrance was BAFTA Scotland nominated for their performances in the film.
It is a Sky Cinema Original in the UK/Ireland and was theatrically distributed in the USA by IFC, before release on HULU.
Joe’s films have played at Cannes, Tallinn Black Nights, San Francisco and the Edinburgh Film festival and his last four short projects have all been selected for Vimeo Staff Picks.
The last of these Staff Picks was ‘RED LIGHT’, an award-winning short film starring Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose, Beast) and Martin McCann (Calibre, The Survivalist).
He has shot hundreds of adverts for clients as diverse as Amazon, Paul Smith, Microsoft, John Lewis, Paul McCartney and Nike.
